Let’s kick things off with this massive list of Paint Tool SAI textures.
The brush tool in SAI works a little differently than Photoshop or Krita. It uses textures to design brushes along with other settings that you can customize on the fly.
This means a lot of artists will take screenshots of their brush settings and release them online, but they won’t always release a full brush file. This is because the brushes often rely on textures to create the end result.
Some of the newer versions of SAI do not come with all the same textures. Naturally this is pretty frustrating.
But if you grab a copy of this texture pack you’ll have all the assets you need to work with the brush tool on your own.
You could even mess around with some settings to create your own custom brushes from scratch. How cool!40 Brush Settings
So I just mentioned how SAI often uses custom settings for brushes. This is even clearer with this amazing pack of 40 free brush settings.
The creator DocWendigo released a pack of textures alongside these brushes and you can download all of them right from the DeviantArt page.
All the textures are hosted on sta.sh but they’re still free to download. And on the main brush settings DA page you’ll find a step-by-step tutorial on how to install these textures/brush settings into your software.
Please note: this is a bit confusing to learn but you’ll get the hang of it with time.
Parts of the process involve copying code and editing files directly like Brushtex.conf. It sounds scarier than it is.

This is totally free to download and use with any version of SAI. It’s got a brilliant setup and this breaks into three different categories: dark, walt, and grainy.
You can use this pack for almost any purpose and it should blend in nicely with all digital painting work.
I can’t say that inexperienced users will find this very comfortable. It does take a bit of effort to nail down the brushing process, not to mention handling settings like opacity.

I’ve never personally used the Weasyl site before but it does seem legit. And it hosts plenty of free downloadable assets like these brushes.
Only trouble is the search feature doesn’t work too well. It’s hard to find brushes or textures on this site unless you do some advanced searches in Google.
I’d definitely recommend grabbing this pack though and keeping it handy.

I will say that this free supplementary brush pack is one of the best out there. DeviantArt user DarlingMionette offers over 15 custom brushes with a wide range of styles:

You can download the entire set for free off the DeviantArt page. The full set measures about 6MB in size so it’s pretty big.

If you’re still learning how to create your own brushes this would be an excellent place to start. Really easy brush set to break into and it works for all skill levels.Fur Brush
To get into something a little more specific have a look at this fur brush created by rainbowsprinkles12.
At first glance this may not look like much. But you can do a lot with brush settings to get this fur brush to look how you want.
Whether you’re drawing a horse’s mane or a big grizzly bear, this brush should work wonders. It’s also pretty small only weighing 50KB in size.

Keep in mind you can search DA for brushes and for groups related to Paint Tool SAI. These are both good methods for finding similar brushes meant for a very specific purpose.Artist Textures
Moving into some textures we have this fun pack by user aheria.
These textures are plentiful and really easy to adjust as needed. Some will prove more useful than others but overall it’s a great pack to have.
There’s a lot here from basic markings to more detailed textures like paper and cardboard. You can work these into any brush style you want to create a variety of effects.
All these textures were created from open source Creative Commons photos, or from public domain photos, so everything is free to distribute and edit for yourself.

These textures weigh about 38MB which definitely isn’t small. But these are textures you can use across so many brushes, or even alter them in photoshop to create new textures.

Super basic yet incredibly useful describes this texture pack.
It comes as a freebie from user Piromanova and the pack includes 17 unique textures tailor-made for brushes. You can alter the shape, spacing, and even change how they work based on opacity.

Inside the .zip file you’ll find a set of instructions on how to install these textures too.
SAI can be really confusing if you’ve never used it before so basic instructions are pretty commonplace with texture packs.
I do recommend checking this out and testing these textures just to see what you think. They don’t follow traditional brush norms but they are really well-designed. And they can fit into a bunch of project types from custom comics to anime fan art.Custom SAI Brushes
If you’re looking more for shapes and unique brush styles then DigiKat04 has a pack for you.
Take a look at these custom SAI brushes and see what you think. I’d argue this pack is one of the better options if you’re doing a lot of custom effects or graphic design work mixed with illustrations.
But many of these brushes also work very nicely with digital painting. The Scale, Flat, Lace, and Flake brushes all look really nice together. I’m also a fan of the Dragonfly brush style.

Overall definitely recommend grabbing this set whether you’re a newbie or experienced artist. Grass Brush
You may look at this grass brush design and get the idea it’s a pattern brush.
However most SAI brushes are not stamp/pattern brushes. Free download halo 4 pc game.
This grass brush is actually a style of brushes designed around individual strokes that you can use to draw grass, bushes, hedges, and so on.
This means you really need to have your fundamentals down and feel comfortable with digital painting before you can turn this into grass.
That said, this brush can be used for so much more than just grass. It’s got a very smooth feeling with easy curves and the end result depends a lot on your pen pressure.
An excellent resource that I highly recommend toying with if you have the time. Leaf & Bark Brushes
Nature brushes are always nice to have. Aside from the grass brush mentioned above there’s also this free pack of leaf and bark brushes.

But I do think this pack will be tough for newbies just learning Paint Tool SAI from scratch. If you’ve never done any digital drawing in here before then spend some time with the default brushes first.

This is totally free so it’s a valuable asset for beginners and experts alike. Not to mention the brush pack itself is full of so many nifty designs.
You’ll find cloud-style brushes along with pencil and pen styles to match any piece of artwork. There’s a good mix of examples in the image above with semi-blended and blended work all from these same brushes.
What I like most about this pack is the consistency. It can be used for almost any project so this is a brush set you’ll use many times over.Nintendo ARMS Brush Pack
Nintendo ARMS is a lesser-known game with a dedicated following. The art style is superb and this brush kit is aimed at mimicking the style.
Digital artist BlackHeartedInk created this brush pack and released it for free on Gumroad. The default price is $0 so just hit download and this pack is yours.
The styles are a clear copy of the ARMS artwork so you can paint your own similar characters with a similar style.
Or design your own brushes with a similar format, or even paint some custom artwork. Whatever you want!
Interestingly enough this artist created an ARM brush pack 2.0 with some updated settings to better match the style.

Spaghetti Penguin’s Enhanced Blood Mod aims to improve on just that: making blood and splatter effects more realistic. Building on the Red Blood Mod by SniperWolfP, this mod changes the color of blood in the game adding shades of crimson and dark red.
The overly bright spilling effect and environment textures are now more realistic. Just what you’d be looking for, right?15. Color Clarity
There are many visual presets available for iGP11. But Color Clarity is probably one of the best in my opinion.
Some mods make the game way too dark, while others just take too much away in terms of detail.
Color Clarity is a great mod if you’re just looking to make everything look better. But without completely changing the look and feel of the game.

In effect, colors are now more vibrant making the world look more realistic.
The details in the environment pop more, while gameplay is not affected. Shadows and brightness are not changed so everything is still as visible as in the vanilla version of the game.14. Visual Infusion Effects
A simple mod that adds visual effects to infused weapons.
A huge part of Dark Souls has to be the different weapon builds that you can explore. Making each playthrough interesting, you can choose to maximize different weapon types, as well as explore upgrade paths depending on what best suits your playstyle.
Though adding elemental effects to your weapons has a huge impact in terms of gameplay. It may appear underwhelming as it does not change the weapon designs at all.
Visual Infusion Effects aim to change that.
As you can guess, fire weapons now appear as if they are burning. Poison weapons have a purple glow. And lightning weapons have that electrically-charged appearance similar to the Nameless King’s Dragonslayer Swordspear.
A small mod, but you’ll definitely feel the change when hacking through bosses with a flaming sword.13. Moonlight Greatsword Restored
Continuing on weapons in the Dark Souls series, fans of the older games are probably familiar with the Moonlight Greatsword.
One of the rarest swords in the game, many Dark Souls players were excited to see whether it would make an appearance in the third game.
But many players where underwhelmed, as the appearance of the weapon was drastically changed in Dark Souls III.
Modder zARCADEz wanted to bring back the iconic look of the Moonlight Greatsword from the previous games.
Reapplying the bright green glow, getting the sword in DS3 is now as exciting as it was in the previous games. That color is most likely where it gets its name, after all!12. Darkdrift RebornDark Souls 3 Cinders Multiplayer
Darkdrift is another hidden weapon in Dark Souls III.
As with most hidden items that aren’t easy to get, you were most likely expecting something grander than what the vanilla version of the Darkdrift looks like: a translucent katana that pretty much looks like every other katana in the game (except this one is see-through).
Obviously, someone felt the same way (or maybe it’s just his favorite weapon and wanted it to look cooler).
This mod makes multiple visual changes to the Darkdrift, adding a black flame when used to strike.
No question, this makes the Darkdrift a truly badass weapon. Which it was meant to be.11. Vulgar Bonfire Text Replacement
The next two mods on the list don’t do much, but are fun to enable.
As the name implies, you should probably keep these away from the kids.
A simple change to the bonfire text, instead of “Bonfire lit” it will now read “It’s Fuckin’ Lit” every time you discover a new bonfire.
Dark Souls players know how a bonfire may be that last light of hope after repeatedly grinding through the most difficult areas of the game.
This simple mod somehow enhances that feeling of achievement when you finally get to that next checkpoint.10. Vulgar Death Message Replacement
Similar to the Bonfire Text Replacement mod, Vulgar Death Message Replacement changes the death text of the game.
Yes, we all know how iconic that “You Died” fade to black screen has become.
This just changes it into what you’re probably thinking after dying to the same boss for the 30th time.
Somehow though, the mod makes it less annoying to die in the game. Which is always welcome in Dark Souls.
Again, you’re probably going to want to keep the kids away from this one. But then again, if they’re already playing a DS game…9. Hunter’s Combat
Newer fans of the series are probably more familiar with Bloodborne.
One of the newer games by FromSoftware, Bloodborne veered away from the medieval theme of the previous games and took a more gothic, Victorian approach.
With the Hunter’s Combat mod you can merge a Bloodborne experience with DS3, replacing vanilla weapons, animations, and movements with ones found in Bloodborne.
Good fun for fans of the Soulsborne series as a whole.8. Wex Dust
Invasions are a huge part of online play in Dark Souls III.
If you enjoy the PvP aspect of the game, you’re probably familiar with Red Eye Orbs.
However if you’re focused on PvP right now, you know how difficult it can be moving from area to area just to find someone to invade. Dince Red Eye Orbs only look for players in your current location.
With this mod, players can now purchase a new item called “Wex Dust” from the Shrine Handmaid. Similar to Red Eye Orbs, except this time you’re matched with players from all areas of the world.
A simple fix to avoid the hassle of finding other people to play with.7. Ten(10) New Classes
For the more veteran Dark Souls fans: if you feel you’ve gotten the most out of the game, having played through it so many times that there just aren’t any more builds you haven’t tried before, this is something to look into.
10 New Classes does exactly as it says: adds ten unique classes to the vanilla version of the game.
You can now play through the game as either a Spear of the Church, Thorns Knight, Slave Knight, or Wandering Knight, among quite a few others.
Each class has a different set of starting stats as well as new appearances, so now is the best time to get to your next DS3 run.6. Enable Classic Poise
Many Dark Souls fans were disappointed with the poise mechanic in DS3.
They felt the updated poise mechanics were flawed or even worse, not working at all.
Luckily you can use Enable Classic Poise to make poise stats work like they did in the previous Souls games.
Especially helpful if you’re into tank builds, give this one a try.5. StraySouls
There are those Dark Souls fans who love the game precisely because of the challenge. Believe it or not, there are mods out there that actually make the game even more difficult.
If you’re into that kind of thing, check out StraySouls.
It basically randomizes enemies, so the trial and error approach we’re all used to no longer comes into play.
You can randomize everything from normal enemies, bosses, and NPCs.
You can even multiply the number of enemies up to 9x the amount in the vanilla version. Why you’d want this, I don’t know. But if you love a challenge(as if vanilla wasn’t enough) check this out.4. Challenge Mod/NPC Stat Modifier
The next three mods come in a pack by Zullie the Witch. Known as the Challenge Mods pack, each mod gives the game a different kind of difficulty from the original version.
The first is NPC Stat Modifier, which allows you to change HP, damage, and defenses of the NPCs in the game.
Now when summoning NPCs for boss fights, they’ll have the stats that you chose for them.
Whether this makes the game harder or easier is entirely up to you.3. Challenge Mod/First Person Cam
The next mod is First Person Cam. Yes you read that right.
You can now play Dark Souls III in first person perspective.
As if dodging and parrying attacks wasn’t hard enough, you’ll now have to do so with a much more limited FOV.
Of course, what makes it more challenging is that the game wasn’t intended to be played this way.
This should make for an interesting reimagining of the game.2. Challenge Mod/Aggression Mod
Last on the list of Challenge Mods is the Aggression Mod.
Simply put, enemies will notice you from farther away and be more persistent in chasing you down once sighted.
As if we needed much more of that in Dark Souls.
Time to git gud, git even better, and prepare to die even more.1. Cinders
Cinders is probably the largest Dark Souls III mod out there.

Almost every hardware board has on-chip watchdog device. From an operating system perspective this use of watchdog device can be very vital, you can read more on watchdog use in linux operating system here. In this post, I’d mostly talk about use of watchdog from the u-boot boot loader’s perspective.
I rent a dedicated server (with Intel Haswell CPU and custom hardware) at a lowcost hosting service and use it with CentOS 6.4 / 64 bit Linux (with stock kernel: 2.6.32-358.14.1.el6.x8664). Every few weeks it hangs and the other customers seem to have similar problems. In the dmesg output I see (here is the full dmesg output). CPU0: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40GHz stepping 03. The Linux kernel can reset the system if serious problems are detected. This can be implemented via special watchdog hardware, or via a slightly less reliable software-only watchdog inside the kernel.
Hardware watchdog is a device if enabled then on its timeout expiry it would reset the hardware unless its timeout is reset by the software. In other words if watchdog is not kicked(reset its timeout value) then it will bite (reset the hardware) you.
This mechanism of watchdog can be used to have a redundant boot in case of failure of default boot.
There is bootcounter in the variable u-boot which counts the number of boots and with this we can also set bootlimit so that if bootcounter exceeds the bootlimit we
program u-boot to take appropriate action based on the use case.
The bootcounter starts with value on 1 on very first boot.
Now imagine if your default boot fails because any of below mentioned reasons
*
*Kernel Crash occurs
*Invalid boot argument
*Root file system partition not found
*Crash in u-boot itself.
So whenever any of these events occur we can set an altbootcmd which is the boot command executed once the bootcounter exceeds the bootlimit variable defined in u-boot.
The only thing we need to take care is of where to store bootcounter (
CONFIG_SYS_BOOTCOUNT_ADDR config option in u-boot) because once linux starts booting it take control of entire hardware and our bootcounter variable may be overwritten by linux operations.
Its is recommended to make use of scratch registers or sram of your hardware device to store bootcounter value, but again it may vary from soc to soc and should be checked carefully. I’ve listed some corner cases to check this:

After the watchdog has been enabled you have to reset the watchdog timer every60 seconds, else your system gets rebooted. Resetting the timer will be done by thewatchdog daemon if none of its tests fails.
Supported tests by the watchdog daemon to check the system status:
*Is the process table full?
*Is there enough free memory?
*Are some files accessible?
*Have some files changed within a given interval?
*Is the average work load too high?
*Has a file table overflow occurred?
*Is a process still running? The process is specified by a pid file.
*Do some IP addresses answer to ping?
*Do network interfaces receive traffic?
*Is the temperature too high? (Temperature data not always available.)
*Execute a user defined command to do arbitrary tests.
*Execute one or more test/repair commands found in /etc/watchdog.d. These commands are called with the argument test or repair.

The watchdog reset is a CPU-configurable device. It is programmed by software to generate a chip-widereset after HW_RTC_WATCHDOG milliseconds. The watchdog generates this reset if software does notrewrite this register before this time elapses.
The watchdog timer decrements the register value once for every tick of the 1-kHz clock supplied fromthe RTC analog section (see Figure 23-1). The reset generated by the watchdog timer has no effect on thevalues retained in the master registers of the real-time clock seconds counter, alarm, or persistent registers(analog persistent storage).
The watchdog timer is initially disabled and set to count 4,294,967,295 milliseconds before generating awatchdog reset.
The watchdog timer does not run when the chip is in its powered-down state. Therefore, there is no master/shadow register pairing for the watchdog timer, and it must be reprogrammed after cycling power orresetting the block.

She is separated from her husband Arjun who is an actor, and lives with her friend Swathi (Lakshmi Priyaa Chandramouli) who works at a film production house, RK Studios. After a poster of the film, Irul, that Swathi is currently working on is put on to the walls of the house, Apsara experiences strange things happening inside the house. She doesn’t give much thought to it because she is always preoccupied by the loan that she has taken from a local gangster. He keeps visiting her house demanding cash and she keeps putting it off by saying that the cheque she has been entitled to, after acting in another ad film previously, keeps bouncing off. In frustration, she goes to visit the ad company where she learns that the producer has gone to take part in the contest arranged by Swathi’s company. The contest is a promotional ad for Irul, in which contestants are awarded ₹5 lakh if they succeed in watching the horror film alone at night without showing signs of fright. She catches an auto and goes to the studio. The scenes are alternated with Vasanth going to Mayavanam and the ad film producer watching the film. By the time she reaches the studio, the producer is dead and is taken on a stretcher towards the ambulance. The director of Irul had witnessed the bizarre death of the ad film producer while watching the film, but claimed to the police it was a heart attack.
Mayuri (Nayanthara) is a single mom and a struggling actress. She is facing far too many financial troubles and decides to watch a horror film called Cheekati as the director throws a challenge. He says that he would pay 5 lakh rupees if anyone watches his film without showing the signs of fear. Mayuri’s life entirely changes after watching the.
All lost and her being emotionally tortured by the money lender, Apsara decides to watch Irul, to make ends meet. Swathi begs her not to, fearing for Apsara’s life and in hope of the director backing her up, she appeals to him too, but the director supports Apsara even though he knows what could happen later on. The film starts to play, and it is revealed that Vasanth’s side of story is the film Irul. As Apsara continues to watch, she is inexplicably teleported into the film. Ram and Kate, the author, is shown to make a man dig into the grounds of Mayavanam, searching for the expensive ring that Maya was said that died with. Vasanth gets caught by Kate and is held at gun point while they search for the ring. Apsara gets caught too, and when they eventually find Maya’s coffin, a figure is seen to appear behind Kate and Ram, and all hell breaks loose. Soon Apsara and Vasanth get separated from the group, and are chased by the ghost. They fall into a big ditch and Vasanth helps her out, while he stays in. She runs away and hears a baby’s cry. She goes in search of it, when she gets shot by Shankar. After falling down, she is held by Maya who cries out in bitter rage and kills Shankar. It is then revealed that Maya is Apsara’s mother. She wakes up in the theatre, with her mother’s diary on her lap, and the doll, which Maya had brought for her baby. It is later revealed that the person who played Vasanth in the film is Arjun himself and producer of the ad film who died earlier, was the one who sent Maya to the asylum and took her ring.
The final scene shows Apsara reunited with her husband and now acting in a film about Maya directed by the same director as Irul. As the shooting starts, the first scene being Maya sitting in a wheelchair, Arjun finds Apsara standing in a corner while everyone was assuming that she was the one sitting in the wheelchair. The film ends with the spirit Maya killing the director and Maya’s ring falling out of his pocket.After that Maya turns back and the screen cuts black.Cast[edit]

Despite a modest budget, the producers insisted that a leading heroine should play the protagonist, and signed Nayanthara in the role. The film released worldwide on 17 September 2015, simultaneously as Maya in Tamil and Mayuri in Telugu. The satellite rights were sold to Sun TV. Maya was scheduled to premiere on the day of Christmas 2016 on Sun TV.Critical reception[edit]
Maya received positive reviews from critics. The Times of India gave the film 3.5 stars out of 5 and wrote: ’Maya is wholly original and cerebral as well. Even after the film has ended, we keep thinking about it, replaying the scenes in our mind and thinking about the inventiveness in how the plot lines are brought together.
